PTSA
The Mission of the PTA is three-fold:
  • to support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before governmental agencies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children;
  • to assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children; and
  • to encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.
Announcements
May 15, 2013 PTSA meeting
Everyone is welcomed to attend our next PTSA meeting, Wednesday, May 15th from 6:30 - 8:00  pm.  It will be held in the main office conference room.  Watch for the bright pink directional signs on the entrance doors.  The agenda for the meeting is posted below under "Files".  Please bring a friend!
THE MFHS PTSA NEEDS YOU!
We are currently recruiting for all board/committee positions for the 2013/2014 school year, including all Leadership positions – no experience necessary.   Our current Leadership and Committee team members are either “graduating” this year or will be senior parents next year. In order to keep the HS PTSA active, we need you to get involved. You are invited to attend our May 15th PTSA meeting. Grab a friend and come join us. It will be held in the office conference room #119. Enter at the main entrance and follow the directional signs.

The MFHS PTSA started in 1991 - 22 years ago.  If no one steps into leadership roles for the 2013-14 school year, the HS PTSA will be forced to dissolve. Gone will be $5000+ for scholarships for our seniors, $3000+ for Gifts and Grants for teacher classrooms and hundreds of dollars for various student events such as Post Prom, Best Buddies and Youth Art Month. Not to mention onetime expenses that come up in student opportunities that are not covered in the school budget. All these budget items are covered by our sales of MFHS spirit wear to students, parents and the community.

PTSA also provides numerous volunteers for the high school. We collect and coordinate volunteers when called upon by the HS Administration. Our organization provides volunteers for Schedule Distribution day in August, copy room volunteers, people to assemble the monthly newsletter and prepare it for mailing, volunteers to coordinate and supply donations for two parent/teacher conference dinners, Spirit Wear sales volunteers, ticket sellers, volunteers to distribute student pictures and volunteers to coordinate, read and select scholarship awardees to name just a few. HS PTSA volunteers have been called upon to be members of various HS and District special committees that require parent input. The HS Administration and Staff have come to rely on our PTSA volunteers to assist them in attending to the students and their academic needs.

For more information on PTSA Leadership roles, please contact our current President below. She will be happy to meet with you.
